PeerUp

 At a glance

PeerUp is a student-run multi-campus initiative with the active goal of promoting mental health and inclusivity in University communities. It provides peer-to-peer support services where student supporters are matched with and provide support for fellow students.

I am currently working to improve and streamline the services provided by PeerUp by developing a web app for PeerUp UCLA.

Problem

PeerUp currently offer 3 services:

1. English chatting (Telegram)

2. Mandarin chatting (WeChat)

3. Audio/Video call (Zoom)

These 3 services are provided all on different platforms. This poses several problems, as supporters don’t know which platforms students have dropped into and students are just waiting without knowing when supporters will come.

A webapp with all 3 services integrated into one platform where students can directly connect with supporters!

We worked on 2 different portals: a student portal as well as a supporter portal. We are currently in the process of creating an admin portal as well.
